Privacy Policy

I am compliant in handling the information you share with me and here is what I do in a little more detail:

Personal data collected

I collect your name(s) so that we can have an ongoing dialogue (and so that we don’t have to call you HRH/Sir/Madam unless of course you would prefer that!), I collect your email address so that I can correspond with you, and I collect your phone number(s) so that I can call you if I need to get hold of you ie returning your calls, ask an important question about your plans, etc. I also collect your postal address so that I can add this information to invoices and postal correspondence including sending your photographs to you if you aren’t able to collect them in person.

All of this is necessary for me to do my job.

How I collect and keep your personal data

If you contacted me via my contact form on my website, this pings through to me into my email inbox which is accessed via a secure password. This password doesn’t contain any link to me ie my postcode or my birthday! When you book me as your photographer, I will store your email in my client database which is only accessible through one computer. If you enquire but don’t book me (you’ll be missing out if you don’t!) I will delete all your personal data from my client database after the appropriate period has ended.

Blog commenting

I do have a blog on my website which I know you all love to look at and where I can show you some of the locations and work I have been working on. I do not add the names of my clients only ‘bride and groom’, I will add the location and link to their site and any other suppliers of the day. If you choose to comment, please be aware that this is public so don’t add any personal information you don’t want to be shared with the world.

How I use cookies

Cookies is a small file that asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added, and the cookie helps analyze web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes, and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences. I use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps me to analyze information about web page traffic and improve my website to tailor it to Client needs. This information is only used for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

Cookies help me to provide you with a better website by enabling me to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives me access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with me. You can of course choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website. It is in today's era compulsory to have it on all websites.

Links to other websites

My website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave my website, you should note that I do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, you alone are responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites, and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

Right of confirmation, access, rectification, and erasure

If you do have any questions about how your personal data is handled, please just send me an email and I will explain how it all works and my process. I’m more than happy to show you the information I hold on you and you will be unsurprised to know that it is only information you have given me willingly. If however any of said data is incorrect and you would like to correct it we can also sort that out.

If you’d like me to delete all your personal data with me, you have the right to request it, but I wouldn’t recommend asking for that before your wedding/photo shoot otherwise I may turn up at the wrong place on the wrong day and someone else will get free photography!

Use of your data

I will use your email to email you about your photography and if there’s something related to your photography or life stage, I will possibly email you about that too.

I do not share my client’s information with any third parties. When my second shooter needs your name and phone number ie if one of you is in a different location and the second shooter is with one of you and might need to call to find you then I will do so. They will obviously also need your name. Again, unless you want them to call you HRH/Sir/Madam!

I don’t currently send out newsletters or blog links

The questionnaire you fill in on the contact page which asks for information about your wedding day comes to me. To my email inbox. Essentially all information you provide is voluntary.

I will always speak to you about the possibility of entering photos into awards. This is covered in the contract signed when booking your photography with me.

Face-based data

The EU has not been particularly specific in terms of what this actually means for working photographers except that we be able to demonstrate reasonable and legitimate use. I will not be selling your photographs to the highest bidder! IF a third party gets in touch and wants to buy a photograph for lots and lots of cash I will of course contact you and we’ll work out a deal! It will never be without your knowledge or consent.

Social media

I am quite active on social media when I remember! That’s probably how you found me. I like to show off my couples and how amazing they look on their wedding days and I also like to show off my commercial work as it all helps with the SEO for both businesses. In my contracts, this is covered however if you do not want your photographs shared on social media you just need to tell me this. There are many weddings I photograph, much to my sadness as they are just flipping awesome, that never see the light of day on social media. Ho hum!

It is your responsibility to ask your guests’ permission.

The photographs I take of and for you, my fabulous Clients are stored on hard drives which are not connected to the internet. These are in premises that are locked and locked again and then a heavy-duty alarm system just to top it all off!

My clients come first. Any questions please just ask..
